Do We Hammer in the Nail?

by Jason Kirk Bartley

I knew what I was doing,
headed straight for hell.
Jesus stepped in and saved me as I
hammered in the nail.
Every time we sin.
Every time we fail.
We walk away from Jesus, but we
hammer in the nail.
He’s glorious to forgive,
through much agony & pain,
to forgive wretched sinners
and give eternal gain.
His mercy everlasting,
His love so pure and true,
Though you hammer in the nail,
He goes to pardon you.
Life is full of circumstances,
Jesus has already been through
without sin.
Let us ask for His forgiveness,
and try not to hammer in the nail again.
