Witness of the Light

by Meri Pandevska

I wanted to tell the word what I’ve heard and what I’ve seen,
For everyone to know, how amazing the LORD can be.
In the night I sought the LORD, in much prayer and supplication,
Of my need for Him, I made an indication.
How He heard or noticed me I don’t understand,
His compassion and miracles, I still can’t comprehend.
I wanted to tell the world, that the LORD to all of us is near,
But the world would not receive it, the world would not hear.
I lit up the candle, to give everyone light,
To show them God’s mercy, His miracles and might.
But they remained silent, whether asleep or awake,
In my witness of His grace, they would not partake.
I became weary, the day was far spent,
I returned to the LORD, to wait for the end.
But later it came for me, to see and understand,
That only the Spirit of God can cause us to amend.
These verses are written for the LORD of our salvation,
Whom I beheld in prayer through much supplication.
