Death and gloom across the land and where His heart would dwell,
Suffering much for the sins of all and the testimony the world would tell,
Laid to death to ransom them in the land of Israel,
Victorious on the third day over sin, death, the devil, and hell,

Triumphant over humiliation and savior of every nation,
He came to live a perfect life only for my sins to suffer in strife,
A conqueror over principalities and the devil that from God’s graces, fell,
Praise be to the victor over death, the King of kings, Emmanuel!

Where bandages and a body laid in the clutches of the graves unyielding grip,
With soldiers and a boulder to guard him so He would surely not slip,
But on that morning as foretold and to all of their surprise,
The Son of God stood triumphant as the third day, He would rise!

Triumphant over humiliation and savior of every nation,
He came to live a perfect life only for my sins to suffer in strife,
A conqueror over principalities and the devil that from God’s graces, fell,
Praise be to the victor over death, the King of kings, Emmanuel!

So let every nation lift up a voice with joyous exaltation to raise,
For the Son of God is triumphant and exalted, robed in majesty, boast in Him, and praise!
