Word and Deed

by Mike Turner

Were there but a blueprint
To stop fear, terror, rage
Or a Book wherein written
Answer upon page

Could we but envision
Ending bigotry, hate
To love one another
Satan’s evil, abate

And not merely say it
But upon our faith, act
To make this world better
Our thoughts and prayers, fact

God, give us the passion
And the goodness of heart
To turn words into deeds
And the courage to start
