Flood us with your mercies,
Lord
Calm this tumultuous wind,
Raging like a sweltering firestorm
Can’t you hear our intense groans
Reverberating like heartbreak songs?
We will:
Atone for this error.
That has birthed terror
And gloomy weathers.
Burn incense
On glistening altars.
And shy from the error of our
Ways that have become a
consuming fire.
