God Does Watch Us

by Alan Bedworth

Life these past two months,
has been very testing.
Learning someone close
has developed cancer.

Visiting the hospital to see them.
What do you say to someone
with a limited life-span.
They're lying there
and you know they are dying.

On top of that you and your wife
have issues that need healing.
then news comes through
a friend from childhood
has passed away suddenly

Yet for all this tragedy.
There's a feeling God
has been watching,
and giving a consoling,
yet uplifting spirit and determination

Alan Bedworth is 65 years old and has been writing poetry and songs for two-and-a-half years.
