Water Tale

by Mark Weinrich

The dove’s soothing coo
is magnified in the stillness.
Leaves above rush
more like water
than the stream’s whisper.
The gentle ripple
reminds me of water’s
abandon in going down
its willingness in descending
no matter how fast or slow.
And lives given up
like this stream
know the Spirit’s flow
the shimmering power
of grace through surrender.
