by Mark Weinrich
I walked hunched over, head down, eyes fixed at my feet afraid to take another. Until I realized by faith the next was the first away, away from what I used to be the first with my Lord. What peace in knowing He has gone before. What strength in grace for every need as I trust Him on this journey. What expectancy with heart and hands open to the tenderness He can extend through me. What light shines through His Spirit light enough for the next breath, the next path, and all that comes. For joy abounds, echoing in the love song He has written for us in the shimmering trail that leads out from the empty tomb.
