It astounds me that the very questions that raise doubts from the watery deep, also have the power to vanquish them. In times of silent suffering I ask myself: does a cosmic bang explain the coin in the fish’s mouth? Or the bump of bacteria the spiritual salve of a child’s smile? Like Job, I am dumbfounded. For the questions alone tell me all I need to know.
