Worth The Test

by Pat Severin

When problems weigh upon you and there’s nowhere to turn,
Times when even sleep won’t come and for some answers yearn,
There’s really a solution to things that cause you grief,
A place that you can go to, where you can find relief.
There is no secret handshake or padlock on the door,
No special words required, just you, and nothing more.
Confusing how the respite of this place is often missed,
Though free to all who seek it. Stop looking, friend, it’s this:
That place you seek, you’ve found it. Just close your eyes and pray.
Your words need not be spoken, within your thoughts just say
Whatever you are feeling, your anger and frustration,
The sadness you are bearing, or any combination.
There’s nothing that’s off-limits. Bring even honest rambling.
True clarity you’ll find there to help you with the handling.
The God who made you, loves you. He’s always there to listen
And cure whatever ails you, for He’s the Great Physician.
Bring every single worry. Please, trust me, when I say
He’s always there beside you, each minute of the day.
Amazing to consider how much your life will change
By simply coming to Him. Don’t ever be estranged.

And now that you have found it , you know the door is open.
Just tell Him what you’re needing. His answers will be spoken.
Whatever you are seeking, He’ll give you what is best.
Don’t doubt it, friend, believe it. This place is worth the test.
