Distant Hearts

by Ron Levi

Complacency erodes the urgency required for the turbulent times that shroud light and darkens hearts.
The distracted and disengaged populace refuses to honestly acknowledge the continuous signs of societal demise and the abhorrence of comity.
The tendency to seek solutions from our disingenuous past, dishonest leaders, preachers, or teachers will not save a nation that wanders further from the truth.
The battle is neither physical nor won with carnal weapons, military might, wealth or technology.
The futility thereof is ever-present in our precipitous decline toward self-destruction.
We are not a nation that follows the tenets of faith regardless of our prostrations; indeed, our behavior exposes what we truly are.h
We are unreliable narrators of the Word of God.
We are pretenders of the Gospel of Salvation.
We are bound to iniquity.
We are comfortable with dishonesty.
We are unforgiving and dismissive.
We are relentlessly hostile!
The Emissaries of Truth are the obstacle to heartfelt change in this nation.
This should not be.
