We listened to him yesterday,
Returned today - he’d gone away.
We guessed he’d gone across the lake.
A longer route we had to take.
We listened once again spellbound.
His friends said, ‘Sit down on the ground!’
We sat upon the grassy slope.
Their attitude inspired much hope.
The twelve of them brought bread and fish;
For better food we could not wish.
Thousands were fed and satisfied -
All were replete with food beside.
