The Other Place

by Stuart Larner

I’ve heard
there’s another place:
God told me in a book.
A land of healing
wherever you look.

I’ve heard
this other place is
where you can go to pray.
I know you’ve been there:
You show it every day.

I’ve heard
this other place is
where we take stock and heart
of those wider things
we sense we’re a part.

We know
this other place is
not far from you and me.
And when we go there:
that’s when we are free.
