Maybe You think I’ll slip away Though I’m taking my road to You I just need more from daily life Still want my tomorrows beside You The way is calling to me Through the fields and forest, I need the space to find my feet And bold steps to explore it Never planned to walk this way To find me on the way to You But every step I take today Brings me one step Closer to You My spirit yearns to wake and rise On a path through sun and rain A chance to see life with clear eyes That may never come again As I’m moving down that road, Who I am set free to roam No matter where I choose to go, Your heart will always lead me home I can’t hope You’ll understand What’s driving me inside I barely understand myself I just know I’ve got to try I’m not afraid to walk alone Don’t know what I will find But I’ll bring You a truer me Than if I’d only stayed behind Never planned to walk this way To find me on the way to You But every step I take today Brings me one step Closer to You
