God’s Mercy Reaches Far

by Emmanuel G G Yamba

God’s mercy
Flows like a river
Softening the stonys heart
Playing a dual role
Of soap and water
Washing the stain of sin

It’s not like a human being
To pick and choose
Rather, it’s water
That doesn’t pass by whole
Without thoroughly going through
The depth and height of it

It’s a journey beyond comprehension
Chasing sinners like running water
Up from strangling hands,
Down to lying tongues
Young from crawling legs,
Old to grey hairs

It’s a ship that sails
With every passenger
Coming on board
Confessing to Jesus
Accepting him as Lord
Without fear or favor
