Lord, I Thank You

by Bill Dotson

Sittin’ on the porch at the end of the day
Watchin’ the sun slowly fade away.
Displaying the colors of red, white and blue,
Lord, I thank You.

Listenin’ to the birds tweetin’ out their song.
Hearin’ a dog’s bark, wonder what’s wrong.
Lightnin’ bugs flashin’, there’s more than a few,
Lord, I thank You.

It’s getting’ dark now, I think I’ll go in.
I look forward to a time I can do this again.
To enjoy Your creation, it’s Heaven’s preview,
Lord… I thank You!
