Collect for Wholeness

by K.M.P. McGee

Jesus then asked him, ‘What is your name?’He said, ‘Legion,’
for many demons had entered him. (Luke 8:30)

Healing Jesus.
You noticed the tomb dweller
banished to the wilds
by the demons he didn’t own.
By seeing his humanity, you healed him.
By naming his demons, he was complete.

Help us name and make space
for our own demons,
the parts of us we try to bury,
so that we, too, may be healed
and made whole.

By all means.
