Reflections

by Bernard Pearson

And still everlasting light
Lingers reluctant to leave this world
It is there in the hands of the surgeon
In the eyes of the stranger
In the curiosity of a child
Freed by the prism of love
It is the honey in the hive
the balm to the wound
it stays because
When we are without it
We are truly alone.
