Incompleteness

by Joseph Njoroge Kinyanjui

Trusting child’s embrace
A glimpse of love
That my whole being craves
Completion in love

Worship rituals
Gives me goosebumps all over
A taste of eternity
Yearned for at the core.

Immensity of the oceans
Contrasts my smallness
Ignites a longing
For the vast serenity.

Deep seated ache
Incompleteness emits
A wondrous cosmos
Drawing me to it.

A tremendous sunset
Illumines my incompleteness
Brilliant beauty
Tearing my eyes.
