Coming Back Together, Forever.

by Mary Wilson-Pope

I went away from you for a little while.
At the time, I wasn’t sure who or what I needed or wanted.
I had some questions in my mind that needed answers; and
I had to make some big decisions.

Would I accept true love or would I settle for fake love?
Without You in my life even temporarily, caused me
sadness, loneliness, and I missed you incredibly.

Reminiscing, You were amazingly good to me; treated
me right, and said I was beautiful.
You owned, protected, and looked out for me.
As a special gem, You showed enormous delight in me.

Why would I settle for abusive relationships and friendships?
Why would I settle for deceitfulness, lies, and unfaithfulness?
Why would I settle for arguments, fights, and constant upsets?
Why would I settle for a bad life instead of a good life?

You lifted my life up from the dust and cleaned me up.
With lovingkindness I was accepted and doubly honored.
I am noticed, admired, and highly favored.
As a bright light, You set me on high for everyone to see.

Knowing what’s in my heart; You answer me even
before I speak.
You are more than enough for me.
My love is growing quite remarkably each day.
Now I see, You are the One I need and want.

Since making Your acquaintance I am getting to know You
quite well. Our spiritual, personal relationship means so much.
Because of reconciliation and peace with each other;
You bring an abundance of good into my life.

You bless me instead of cursing me.
You tell me the truth instead of lies.
You forgive me instead of resenting and punishing me.
You save my life instead of destroying me.

You strengthen me instead of making me weak.
You tell me to rest instead of making me tired.
You help me instead of letting me do everything alone.
You cause me to have peace instead of causing arguments,
fights, and confusion.

You make me joyful and happy instead of making me sad.
You give me liberty and freedom instead of bondage.
You empower me instead of making me helpless.
You give me a victorious life instead of a defeated one.

There is something about Your name.
I whisper it in my heart; and I call Your name out loud.
At the mention of your name, I smile; and
I feel very special and good inside.
It is the sweetest name I know.

So many people are talking about You.
Your name is highly praised for all the good You do
People are speaking Your name in the church, doctor’s office,
in the grocery store, in the restaurant, on the job,
and everywhere.

The sick are calling Your name.
The helpless are calling Your name.
The young, middle-aged, and the old are calling Your name.
The rich, powerful, and famous are calling Your name.

Thank You for Your great love, goodness, and merciful
kindness to me.
I will tell others how great, wonderful, and amazing You are.
Blessed be Your glorious name forever.

I choose You today, always, and forever. You are faithful and true.
I accept the real love You have for me; and I will not settle for fake love.
I love You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength.
With You, my life is beautiful, wonderful, and adventurous.
I’ll let nothing separate me from Your love again.
Don’t ever go away from me; stay with me until the end.

Because of Your valuable and priceless gift of eternal life, we will be
together in Your house forever; You, me, and all the chosen ones.
I am coming back to You, Lover of my soul.
What is His name?
Jesus is His lovely and wonderful name.

  5. So encouraging . This is so raw and honest. I have definitely found myself in this place of uncertainty before. Questioning, seeking, searching, and wondering where God was in all of it. But God never left. This was so encouraging. Thank you.
