by John Alexander
When the days get too busy with places to go,
Or the other extreme when the minutes are slow,
I pray for a steady and moderate pace,
When I’m eager and active but don’t have to race.
Too fast or too slow I grow weary it seems.
I’m not at my best when at either extreme.
Growing weary’s not always determined by speed,
But circumstance, consequence, drive to succeed.
Sometimes when I’m studying trying to learn
My mind can grow weary if I can’t discern.
When I pray and God’s answer is I have to wait
I will often grow weary if that is my fate.
Perhaps it’s an illness long lasting, prolonged.
Finding solutions is taking too long.
When pain is ongoing, when weary and weak,
God is the answer I need and I seek.
God is my strength as I live and I cope.
He’s given himself; He brings goodness and hope.
