Serving My Lord

by Eve Gaal

I will be content sweeping
one of His many mansions.
I will polish trumpets,
and fluff the wings of celestial angels.
I will be content to be near my Savior,
while watching important souls
prepare for serious battles.
I will be content to kneel,
praying with gratitude,
happily singing with joy,
when music fills the heavens.
I will offer my help,
attempt to learn,
grateful for mercy,
and thankful for His favor.
I will be completely content.
If ever I should face Him,
Let my humble heart rejoice,
In complete appreciation,
for the chance to hear His voice.

Eve Gaal, holds a Master’s Degree in Human Behavior and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. She is the author of four novels: The Happy War, Penniless Hearts, Penniless Souls, and a short novella called The Fifth Commandment.  After a long career in advertising, she also writes stories, poems and articles for newspapers, anthologies, and magazines. As the local creative writer, she has contributed to a play about her city, and the Wildomar library asked her to create a musical video about Margaret Collier Graham, complete with Eve’s original song titled, “I’ll Never Stop Thinking.” The song seems to explain why Eve continues to write and inspire others. Last year, she had a column in In2uition Magazine which was all about empowering women. Of course, her favorite assignments are those sweet emails asking her to write wedding vows, because after all, Eve’s a romantic at heart. Born in Boston, but a longtime Californian, she lives with her loving husband, and a speedy Italian greyhound mix called Baba.
