The Mission Field

by Jason Kirk Bartley

We are on a mission,
from Jesus Christ our King,
there was not one person for whom He did not die,
He went through suffering.
He defeated death and hell.
Now we bear His name,
not to glorify ourselves,
but to bring glory to Him all the same.
The mission field is anywhere we can proclaim
to everyone, everywhere, that we come in Jesus’s name.
We try to show them the way,
even in the darkest night.
May our hearts shine with His holy light.
We carry the Spirit of God’s own Son within each believer’s heart.
Then we witness to everyone how great our God is.
We are living epistles read by every man,
guided by the Savior and led by God’s own hand.
We share His grace and mercy,
and bring peace and good tidings to men.
We bring a message of forgiveness and remission of sin.
The church is within us,
for there’s power in Jesus’s name.
Come home, you wayward child,
only death is found in Satan’s game.
We spread God’s love and truth to all who will listen closely.
We show others the way through the Holy Ghost.
The mission remains the same, for God does not change.
We are all missionaries in the mission field, reaching all who are in our range.
From the youngest to the oldest,
in Walmart, on the streets, and at the gas station – every place.
We’re called to spread the Gospel to the human race.
The mission field remains unchanged;
it’s to plant Christ’s holy seeds.
There’s a mission field everywhere to meet others’ needs.
