We love You, Lord, but we don’t understand
The workings of Your outstretched hand.
We ask for grace, we ask to trust;
How could we understand? We are but dust.
We seek You, Lord; we cannot comprehend
The strength which could the heavens rend.
We pray for grace to trust Your might,
For grace to live by faith and not by sight.
We know You, Lord, and yearn to know You more,
Although we doubt the Cross’s door.
Why should we sinners be forgiven?
We ask for grace to know those chains are riven.
We trust You, Lord, and yet our faith may fail.
We pray that You, Lord, would prevail.
We see our doubt, we ask relief.
We do believe! oh, help our unbelief.
