Lampposts in the Park

by Michael Shoemaker

Friends in Christ
are lampposts
in the park
gleaming in rain
glowing through fog
penetrating the sleet
guiding my steps
over uneven pavement
radiating all through
the night
leaving warmth, glory
praise, and joy in a
disciple’s secure
peaceful embrace.
