The Lighthouse

by Jeff Kaspar

Jesus is on the throne
Joy is filling my soul
The Holy Spirit is in my heart
Reminding me God is in control

I’ve got breakfast in my belly
Hot coffee in my cup
Every day brings new miracles
If I’ll just keep looking up

Ignore the brush fires
Distractions burning all around
Let Jesus lay them all to rest
Buried 6 feet underground

The cross reminds my heart to trust
In the Blood and in Jesus’ scars
At Calvary, the battle won
His victory written in the stars

Every day my mind gets lost
In a foggy haze of doubt
Swimming in the voice of my past
Yet each day I hear a heavenly shout

“Look up and turn your eyes
Child, let me help you fix your gaze
My blood is the beacon
Cutting through the foggy haze

My heart, the unfailing lighthouse,
On the majestic shores in the sky
My love for you is the light
Shining from my throne on high

Turn your eyes and fix your gaze
Focus on my love for you
My strength is steady and secure
My love will always pull you through
You’ve never been lost
In the foggy mists of pain
You’re never gone from my sight
The cross forever your greatest gain

Turn your eyes and fix your gaze
Let my light fill your eyes
See each moment as a new beginning
Each second a newly found prize

Each moment brings new opportunities
To plunge into the depths of my love
Bringing favor wisdom blessings
Sent from my heart above.”
