How Great Thou Art

by Joe Bisicchia

Heard it said of greatness,
one must really want it
to get it.

So much sacrifice.

But now I sense, to get it,
greatness,
the basic sacrifice is
simply letting go.

That sacrifice takes faith
to attain something great.
It takes faith to let go.

And suddenly,
all the striving,
all the sacrifice is joy.

And the air is weaving
a refrain of peace.
Lifted upward,
like the voiceless brush
upon a canvas.

Streams all of heaven.

I let go.

And You do what You do.
