What Love Really Means

by Jeff Kaspar

I know that I’m loved
In a way that cannot be described
That Lord Jesus came down
For me, He suffered and died

He saw underneath
The stain of my life
He said, child, You’re mine
The tomb says You’re alive

I’ll love you for you
Just as you are
You see yourself as dirty
But child, you’re brighter than the stars

What the world has discarded
Tossed aside and condemned
Child, you are mine forever
My love will always defend

This is the way
The path I’ve prepared
I’ve already won the war for you
There’s no need to be scared

I’m the Lord God Almighty
Jesus Christ, your Redeemer and King
I’ve made my home in your heart
You’re hidden under my wing

You’ve never been lost
I’ve always been right here
Please, child, don’t close your eyes
Whisper your prayers right in my ear

I’ll wrap my arms around you
In a love you cannot yet surmise
I’ll heal all your broken parts
I’ll wipe all the tears from your eyes

I’ll love you forever
I’ll show you what love really means
You’ll never again be afraid
No matter how dark the night seems

The light I’ve placed inside you
Living waters springing forth
Because I see your true value
I know exactly what you’re worth

You’re a priceless treasure
A precious, unique work of art
Come, child, you’re now mine
Your home is forever my heart

These are my words
To my precious little one,
From Your Father who’s Glory
Shines brighter than the sun

This is my promise.
I love you, Jeff.

I love you too, Jesus.

Thank You for loving me.
In Your tender name.
Amen
