This selfish realm
veils our perception
with clouds of doubt,
stormfronts of insecurity.
We cannot perceive
compassion
without motive,
love without
comparison,
devotion that
treasures one
as if he or she
was the only 
one alive.
Yet gladly that is 
the astounding
affection
bestowed upon
you and I,
as our Father’s
beloved.
