Ordinary Time

by Nathan Chan

Let us praise the silence of hours
Spent sighing. Let’s praise what’s not ours
To have in desiring. Let
The restless rhythm of our days
Be calmed to a summer’s brief delay
To pray our pains to thirst, yet.
