The secret is in
the presentation
giving what we have,
whether a shepherd’s staff, 
empty nets, or even 
a tax collector’s pen.

Not one 
could commend themselves,
yet He wanted them
knowing 
what they would give.

For transformation
flows through Him
changing Moses’ staff,
filling Peter’s nets, anointing
Matthew’s pen.

And like Moses
wondering what God required,
it’s in the casting
only what we have.

And with Moses
we tremble with astonishment
at the change
that only comes through Him.
