Lenten Quarantine

by Yvona Fast

Lenten Quarantine
March is here.
With equinox,
day and night
are same in length.

Spring brings
receding snow.
Water drips from roof,
rivulets trickle downhill.

After months of
white, brown, gray,
purple, yellow, pink
flowers emerge,

Lenten season,
Prayer, fasting,
silence, solitude, rest.
Wild thoughts quarantined.

Ready to embrace
God’s amazing grace.
Ready
To run the race.

Yvona Fast’s poems have appeared in many disparate literary journals and anthologies in the last dozen years. Yvona immigrated to the US when she was 9.
