Lent

by Johanna Caton

not a new meditation mantra
       a select self-help system
       a Real Results! regimen
       or any other riveting
       endeavour at rind-repair

has hands supple as flame
     eyes relentless as mirrors
     footsteps inexorable as time
     irrevocable as paradise
