Who Would Dare?

by Mark Weinrich

Who would dare
to open up to ridicule?
In this age of carefully
guarded personas,
why would anyone
in right mind
want to reveal
their true nature.
Who could ever
recover from appearing
like a fool? The risk
is simply beyond
imagination that anyone
would desire to be genuine,
to be vulnerable. Yet
in our Father’s wisdom
He sent His Son
as a helpless child
to show
what true love dared.

Mark Weinrich lives a creative life as a writer, photographer, musician, and artist—all wrapped together in an outdoorsman. He is a retired pastor and nine-year cancer survivor.
