That we will ever need
If we pause long enough
To name them as they are
In the depth
Of their authenticity
Not the replacements
Or the fakes
We imagine them to be
The voids
That suffocate us
These longings
That overwhelm

He is all things
That we will ever need
If we were to drink
Of these words—Son!
Life eternal
Our sight restored
It would be God's voids
Christ's hunger
To know him that made us
To know self
The start
The end
And all that's in between
He is all things.

Dr. Tabitha N. Munyoki is a registered medical doctor currently working with Centre of Excellence HIV Management (COEHM)as a PMTCT lead in Kenyatta National Hospital-Kenya. She is a graduate of the University of Nairobi College of Health Sciences and currently pursuing a master’s degree in Public Health in the same institution. She is a Christian, a mental health advocate, bibliophile, and a budding poet.
