Is dawn a secret shadowscape slipping surreptitiously through prisms toward a rainbow’s secret cache? And why does an October moon flirt with fainthearted stars only to slip beneath western waves and reappear as a sly smile in the east? And how do vast mountains rise from deep ocean floors and birds on motionless wings soar to heights unknown? Can a tiny seed grow a Redwood? A Sequoia? Can an egg craft a child’s initial smile? And cannot man in his wisdom see God with nothing more than the vision he’s been given?
Fred Miller is a California writer. Over fifty of his stories and poems have appeared in publications around the world over the past ten years. Many may be found on his blog: https://pookah1943.wordpress.com
